Our Client, is a well established and reputable Home Builder in Calgary, Alberta and is currently hiring for the position of Site Superintendent for the Calgary area.

We are currently looking for an individual with a keen interest in understanding the residential home building process to become a member of our industry leading team. Job Description

As a member of the Production Team your responsibilities will include providing on-site coordination for all phases of the construction process.

This includes;

1) Manage the schedule and the process of the homes under construction

2) Complete the required quality control inspections

3) The customers point of contact for during construction. (Introduction email, sending

completed inspections)

4) Confirm the possession dates of the homes assigned to you at the start of insulation.

5) Complete homes under construction with minimal deficiencies

6) Inspect the work completed by subcontractors and confirm the payment of P.O’s and

VPOR’s

7) Complete service appointments and warranty inspections

8) Snow removal for homes under construction

9) Job site cleanliness

10) Hands on framing, painting, and pre-occupancy requirements

11) Work site safety (Complete inspections, stop unsafe work practices)

12) Construction site fencing

13) Schedule the workload for a trade or supplier if it is assigned.

14) Schedule your workload for the coming week, in order to help with the team’s workload.

Qualifications/Experience

Successful candidates would have past residential construction experience, customer service experience, be self-motivated, the ability to work independently and the ability to adapt to a changing environment. We are looking for candidates with minimum 4 years of SINGLE FAMILY Site Superintendent experience. Education, Safety Tickets and Industry courses are an asset.

Description

  • 3D modelling of single-family homes in Revit

  • Mentoring Junior Technologists

  • Produce original concept floor plans and elevations

  • Produce concept floor plans and elevations based on customer requested changes

  • Produce CAD working drawings in an accurate and timely manner

  • 10 years in single family residential industry (Drafting and Design capacity)

  • 5 years in ‘managerial/supervisory’ role

  • Good understanding of Auto CAD or similar CAD program.

  • Design of new plans and exteriors, customization of existing plans and exteriors, production of working drawings, and production and grading of plot plans.

Education

  • Architectural Technologist program or equivalent

  • Understanding of Alberta Building Code.

  • Understanding of City of Calgary Land use bylaw

Site Superintendent Commercial Construction

Relying on their previous commercial construction experience the Site Superintendent will be responsible for:
• Participating in the pre-construction and project start up meetings
• Coordinating and scheduling the work of field staff, contractors and trades on-site
• Leading job-site meetings to monitor and support the projects ongoing progression and scheduling commitments
• Effective cost control as it pertains to labour, equipment and project materials
• Ensuring the project is built according to approved plans and specifications while ensuring a high standard of quality is maintained
• Promoting and ensuring adherence to the company’s health and safety management programs ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies
• Working closely with the project team to accurately track and monitor site progress, labour and material requirements, coordinate inspections and submit reporting as required
We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated leadership experience to provide guidance and direction to all field employees, contractors and trades with the ability to influence others, negotiate and resolve conflict. The proven ability to establish strong client and trade relationships is also crucial to the success of this position.

Requirements:
To qualify for this position, successful applicants will possess the following requirements:
• 5+ years commercial construction experience as a Superintendent
• Red Seal Certified Carpenter preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of current construction practices, drawings/blueprints, specifications, schedules and budgets
• Ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule and budget.
• Proven organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong knowledge of various pieces of construction equipment and its capabilities
• Capable of identifying the root cause of problems and constructability issues in complex situations and determine viable solutions
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple stakeholders (ie. client, trades, contractors)
• Working knowledge of Procore, Microsoft office and applicable software
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Committed to providing exceptional customer service both internally and externally
• Flexibility in working long hours and periods of overtime
• This is a site-based position and requires working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be willing to travel for assigned projects
• Must have and maintain a valid provincial drivers license
• Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
